Vomitory is a Swedish death metal band from Forshaga . The band plays typical Swedish death metal, which has been combined with the brutality of American death metal. She was signed to the Metal Blade Records label .

Band history

Vomitory was founded in 1989 by guitarist Urban Gustafsson and bassist Ronnie Olson. Tobias Gustafsson joined the band in the same year. After the first concerts in 1990, Bengt Sund joined Vomitory as the new bass player, while Ronnie Olson concentrated on the vocals. Later a second guitarist joined the band, Ulf Dalegren. A first self-titled demo aroused the interest of the Swiss label Witchhunt Records, which released the single Moribund . Also in 1993, Bengt Sund was kicked out of the band and replaced by Thomas Bergqvist. After further demos and concerts Vomitory signed a record deal with the Dutch label Fadeless Records. In 1996 the debut album Raped in Their Own Blood was finally released .

When in 2004 Erik Rundqvist no longer enjoyed singing and wanted to concentrate more on the bass, Vomitory went looking for singers, but without success. A few months later, guitarist Ulf Dalegren split from the band. Peter Östlund has been playing for Vomitory since December 12, 2005.

In 2013 the band announced that they would give a few more concerts and then split up at the end of the year. On December 27th they gave the farewell concert in Karlstad .

On March 29, 2018, the band announced their comeback and announced concerts for 2019 worldwide.
