Von Essen road bridge
The Von-Essen- Strasse Bridge is a road bridge that crosses the Eilbek Canal in Hamburg 's Barmbek-Süd district .
Cultural monument
The one-arch bridge built in 1927 under the Hamburg chief building director Fritz Schumacher is registered as a cultural monument in the list of monuments of the Hamburg cultural authority .
construction
Schumacher designed the bridge in collaboration with the civil engineer Gustav Leo . The clinker -faced bridge has a low construction height and rests on granite pedestals. It has two-hinged frames with cantilever arms made of T-beams. The Von Essen road bridge is 25.30 m long and bears the bridge number 167 and the structure number 2426 105.

The Von- Essen-Strasse Bridge bears the name of the Von-Essen-Strasse that crosses it . A wooden bridge has led over the Eilbek Canal at this point since 1898, which was replaced with a reinforced concrete structure that year.
