Coat of arms of the von Laucha family

The lords of Laucha were an extinct Thuringian gentry from the place of the same name in Laucha in the Gotha district .

history

At the beginning of the 13th century, the Lords of Louchaha are mentioned in Laucha near Waltershausen , who probably had built a simple castle on the outskirts. Dietrich von Laucha acted as a notary in the landgrave's office in Eisenach in 1223 . During the turmoil of the Thuringian-Hessian War of Succession, Knights von Laucha built the Leuchtenburg in the neighboring town of Tabarz .

The Laucha knights temporarily served as castle men at Tenneberg Castle . Together with the Lords of Hörselgau , they belonged to the retinue of the notorious Apitz , son of Landgrave Albrechts . After Landgrave Balthasar purchased the castle estates on Tenneberg from Heinz and Lutz von Laucha , they settled in the town of Waltershausen. In 1401 goods from Apel and Friegen von Laucha were sold to the Reinhardsbrunn monastery , the castle - which later became a palace - passed to the Lords of Teutleben .

The family died out in the 16th century.

goods

The family was wealthy in the area around Erfurt and Gotha. The knight Heinrich von Laucha was attested in an Ichtershausen document in 1354. Hans von Laucha was wealthy in Kettenrode in 1373. His cousin Hartung von Laucha was a canon in Ohrdruf . In 1388 Dietrich von Laucha had the Rinkleben estate as a fief from the Counts of Schwarzburg . In 1440 Hans von Laucha was mentioned in an Erfurt document.

coat of arms

The family had a fallen garlic stalk in their sign. Two flags on the helmet. The timing is not known.
