The Vossko GmbH & Co. KG , based in Ostbevern , North Rhine-Westphalia is a meat and soy processing company, the chicken, turkey, pork, beef and soy to frozen food processing.
The company was founded in 1982 by Bernhard and Maria Vosskötter. It employs around 530 people (as of 2012). The products are in the food retail sector under the brand Vossko and various private labels sold. In addition to catering and system catering , Vossko supplies the industry for the further processing of the products in ready-made meals . The production capacity in Germany is 40,000 t and at the Lages site in Brazil 15,000 t.
criticism
In February 2013, undeclared proportions of horse meat were found in some finished food products on the market, including those containing beef processed by Vossko (see horse meat scandal in Europe 2013 ). According to Vossko, the meat purchased from the upstream supplier was already incorrectly declared.
