Maison Pommery

Louis-Alexandre Pommery, wool merchant, merged with Narcisse Greno in 1856 and founded " Pommery & Greno ". After the death of Louis-Alexandre in 1858, it was his widow, Jeanne Alexandrine Pommery, who took over the inheritance. In 1866, Louis, the couple's eldest son, was entrusted with the management of the company, which was now called "Veuve Pommery & Fils". The widow had 18 kilometers of cellars excavated and large buildings in the neo-Gothic Tudor style built on the ruins of Saint-Nicaise in Reims. The network of underground passages connects chalk mines from Gallo-Roman times. Towards the end of the 20th century, the company was owned by various luxury groups: Xavier Gardinier, Groupe BSN , Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton and, since 2002, the Vranken Monopole group.

The group is listed on the Paris Stock Exchange and is a member of the CAC Small under the ISIN code FR0000062796.
