Vulcano di Fango Iulia is an elliptical deep sea mountain , specifically a mud volcano with a northwest-southeast orientation, off the Scott coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is 47 km south-southeast of the Drygalski ice tongue and 86 km west-northwest of Franklin Island at a depth of 1500 to 2500 m.
Scientists from an OGS Explora research expedition from OGS Trieste , carried out between 2005 and 2006, discovered it. Italian scientists named it after the asteroid (89) Julia .
