The Vydrica (German Weidritz / Wödritz , rarely also Bystrica or Bistritz [a] ) is a 17 kilometer long stream in the southwest of Slovakia .
It rises in the Little Carpathians at an altitude of around 450 m and flows through the Bratislavský lesný park (Forest Park Bratislava). The confluence with the Danube is in Karlova Ves , a district of Bratislava . Part of the stream is under Natura 2000 conservation.
The name of a former settlement on the banks of the Danube below Bratislava Castle is derived from the name of the river .
