Vytautas Pakalniškis

Vytautas Pakalniškis (born May 27, 1944 in Gegrėnai , Plungė district ) is a Lithuanian lawyer, professor and politician, Minister of Justice.

Life

1972 graduated Pakalniškis the Diploma in Law at the University of Vilnius and then worked as an assistant. In 1978 he received his doctorate as a candidate in law after completing his apprenticeship in Moscow . From 1989 to 1991 he worked in the legal department of the Supreme Council of the Lithuanian SSR or the Provisional Seima . From 1991 to 1992 he was Lithuanian Minister of Justice and Deputy Prime Minister of Lithuania. In 1992 Vytautas Pakalniškis was the director of the Lithuanian Economic and Privatization Institute. From 1993 he was CEO of an investment company.

From 1996 to 2000 he was a member of parliament in the Seimas . Again he was Minister of Justice in the 8th government from 1996 to 1999. Since 1999 he has been a lecturer in civil law and since 2000 professor of civil and commercial law . In 2001 he was elected Chairman of the Senate of the Mykolas Romer University .
