Central térmica de Pasajes was a coal-fired power station that was in operation from 1968 to 2012 in Pasajes in Gipuzkoa in the Spanish Basque Country .
history
The plant was built in the 1960s on behalf of Iberduero on the state port site between the urban areas of Pasajes de San Juan and Lezo and has belonged to Iberdrola since 1992 . The operating area measured 34,000 m 2 and was surmounted by a 115 m high chimney, the highest in the province at the time. The thermal power plant used coal as the main fuel and oil as a substitute fuel. It consisted of a power plant block with an installed capacity of 215 MW.
On June 7, 2012, Iberdrola applied to the Ministry of Industry to close the plant, which took place on November 30, 2012. The complete dismantling was completed in 2015.
