Władysław Kłosiewicz
Władysław Kłosiewicz (born December 7, 1955 in Warsaw ) is a Polish harpsichordist , conductor and music teacher .
Live and act
Kłosiewicz studied harpsichord with Julitta Ślendzińska at the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy (today Fryderyk Chopin University of Music ) in Warsaw . At the Accademia Musicale Chigiana he was a student of Ruggero Gerlin and is thus in direct tradition with Wanda Landowska . He worked with soloists, ensembles and musicologists in the field of medieval , renaissance and baroque music and won prizes as a soloist, continuo player and interpreter of contemporary music at harpsichord festivals in Paris (1981) and Dijon (1983) and at the ARD competition in 1984 in Munich .
From 1978 he worked with Jerzy Maksymiuk's Polish Chamber Orchestra and the Sinfonia Varsovia . In 1984 he was one of the founders of the Concerto Avenna Orchestra , of which he was artistic director in the first year. From 1993 to 1996 he directed the first complete Polish performance of Claudio Monteverdi's stage work at the Warsaw Chamber Opera , and in 2000 the performance and recording of Jacopo Peri's opera Euridice . He is artistic director and manager of the baroque orchestra Musicae Antiquae Collegium Varsoviense and the international early music ensemble Narol Baroque .
Kłosiewicz recorded more than 100 hours of harpsichord music for radio and television and recorded works by François Couperin , Johann Sebastian Bach , Jean Philippe Rameau , Johann Jakob Froberger and Domenico Scarlatti , among others . As a professor for harpsichord and interpretation of baroque music, he taught at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz between 1987 and 2004 . He also taught at the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw. He is the founder and president of the Pro Akademia Narolense Foundation .
Prizes and awards
In 1984 he received first prize in the ARD competition . In 2000 he received a Fryderyk for his recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations . In 2001 he was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland . In 2007 he received the POLCUL Foundation Prize for the Promotion of Polish Culture and in 2014 another Fryderyk for François Couperin: Pièces de Clavecin as Album of the Year (classical and baroque music).
