Władysław Tatarkiewicz
Władysław Tatarkiewicz (born April 3, 1886 in Warsaw ; † April 4, 1980 ibid) was a Polish philosopher and ethicist from the Lviv-Warsaw School as well as a philosophy and art historian . He was a member of the Polska Akademia Umiejętności and the Polska Akademia Nauk .
Life
Tatarkiewicz studied at the universities in Berlin , Marburg , Paris and Lemberg , among others . He read the history of philosophy, aesthetics and ethics at the universities of Warsaw, Wilno , Posen and Lausanne . He was editor-in-chief of Przegląd Filozoficzny and Estetyka and author of numerous non-fiction books.
