Włodzimierz Mieczysław Nykiel (born December 23, 1951 in Łódź ) is a Polish legal scholar and rector of the University of Łódź from 2008 to 2016 .

Life

Włodzimierz Nykiel graduated from the University of Łódź in 1973 with a law degree and then worked at the Chair of Financial Law . Nykiel received his doctorate in 1980 . In 1981 he graduated from the Faculté Internationale de Droit Comparé in Strasbourg . His habilitation took place in 1993. From 1994 to 1996 he was Vice Dean in Łódź. In 1996 Włodzimierz Nykiel was made extraordinary and in the same year, until 2002, dean of the Department of Administration and Tax of the University of Łódź. In 2006 he was appointed full professor. In 2007 he received the chair for substantive tax law . In 2008, Nykiel was elected Rector of the University of Łódź to succeed Wiesław Puś . In 2012 he was re-elected, and in 2016 Antoni Różalski was elected as his successor.

Włodzimierz Nykiel is married and has two children.
