Walter Jens Zeller (born March 2, 1944 in Riesa ) is a German medic.

Zeller studied medicine from 1962 to 1970 and received his doctorate in 1971 from the University of Frankfurt am Main . From 1970 until his retirement in 2009 he worked as a scientist at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg . In 1981 he was at the Ruprecht-Karls University Heidelberg habilitation . In 1985 he obtained the title of specialist in pharmacology and toxicology . Since 1990 he has been an adjunct professor at Heidelberg University. He is co-author of over 170 publications in scientific journals and co-editor of specialist books.

Zeller ran for the 2013 federal election as a direct candidate for the alternative for Germany in the Heidelberg constituency and was ranked 11th on the Baden-Württemberg state list. He was one of the two board spokesmen for the Baden-Württemberg state association of the AfD.

At the federal party conference of the AfD in Essen on July 4, 2015, Zeller applied for the post of first speaker with a speech that was marked by strong US criticism, but only won 1.5 percent of the votes.

In the 2017 Bundestag election , 13th place on the state list did not receive a mandate for the Bundestag.
