WHUS ( UConn`s Sound Alternative ) is the oldest radio station in the US state Connecticut . College radio began broadcasting in Storrs in 1922 . The transmitter belongs to the University of Connecticut and broadcasts on FM 91.7 M Hz with 4.4 k W for Connecticut, southern Massachusetts and western Rhode Island .

WHUS operates a second channel called WHUS2, which has been produced as an Internet radio stream since 2014.

History and program

The station went on air in 1923 as WCAC . In 2014 WHUS opened a multimedia studio in which students can learn audio and video productions and mastering.

WHUS produces over 100 music shows . The music department focuses on unknown genres. In addition, messages and talk formats are sent that may a. deal with topics on campus .
