WSF World Cup

The WSF World Cup is a team tournament in squash in which both men and women compete in the same team for their nation. It takes place at irregular intervals and is not a world championship . Organizer is the World Squash Federation .

history

The first event took place in 1996 in Petaling Jaya , Malaysia . Up to now there has not been a team competition in which men and women competed together in one team. Each team in the tournament therefore consists of two men and one woman. At the World Cup, prize money is also distributed to the participating teams. The total award in 1996 was $ 70,000. The first winner was Australia , which defeated England 3-0 in the final. Three years later England won the title 3-0 against Scotland in the final . The venue was ' s-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands . In 1996 and 1999, 16 teams competed. The third event followed in 2011 in Chennai , India . This time Egypt prevailed as the best team. In the final, the team defeated England 2-0. A fourth WSF World Cup was announced in Sharm El-Sheikh for 2014, but it did not take place.
