WSF World Cup 1999

The 2nd WSF World Cup took place from August 10th to 15th, 1999 in 's-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands . A total of 16 teams took part in the squash tournament.

In the second edition of the tournament, the teams of England , Scotland , Egypt and Australia qualified for the semi-finals. In these, England prevailed against Australia and Scotland against Egypt with 2: 1 each. In the final, the English team beat Scotland 3-0.

From the German-speaking area, Germany and Austria took part. While Austria finished last in Group A without a single game win, Germany finished third in Group D after losing to England and Wales and beating Ireland 2-1 . Both teams placed 9th in the overall standings.

The participating teams competed in four groups. The group played in round robin mode and the group winners advanced to the semi-finals. This was carried out in the knockout system . Only the first eight places were played, the other teams were listed on a shared 9th place.

All teams consisted of a minimum of three and a maximum of five players who had to be reported in the order of their skill level. Three individual games were played per match, with two men's and one women's game. A team won if its players could win two of the individual games. The order in which the individual games were played was independent of the order in which the players entered.
