WSF World Cup 2011

The 3rd WSF World Cup took place from March 8th to 12th, 2011 in Chennai , India . A total of nine teams took part in the squash tournament.

The last event took place in 1999, when England beat Scotland 3-0 in the final. This year the top seeded Egyptian team remained victorious in the end. In the final, she beat England 2-0. Ramy Ashour defeated James Willstrop in the first game with 11: 8, 11: 7 and 11: 7. After Raneem El Weleily won against Jenny Duncalf with 11: 8, 7:11, 11: 9 and 11: 1, Egypt was the winner early on, so that the last game between Karim Darwish and Tom Richards was no longer played. In addition, Mohamed Elshorbagy and Nour El Tayeb were in the squad for Egypt , the latter not being used. Third place went to Australia , who beat Malaysia 2-1 in the game for third place .

mode

The participating teams competed in two groups. The group played in round robin mode , and the two best-placed teams advanced to the semi-finals. This was carried out in the knockout system . Only the first four places were played out.

All teams consisted of a minimum of three and a maximum of five players who had to be reported in the order of their skill level. Three individual games were played per match, with two men's and one women's game. A team won if its players could win two of the individual games. The order in which the individual games were played was independent of the order in which the players entered.
