Lists on the subject |
The pistol vz. 50 , civil name ČZ 50 , is a Czechoslovak self-loading pistol with a caliber of 7.65 × 17 mm .
history
The ČZ 50 was developed by the brothers Jan and Jaroslav Kratochvíl between 1947 and 1948 in the Czech arms factory Česká zbrojovka in Strakonice . The Kratochvíls adopted the design and functional principle of the Walther PP and PPK pistols . The pistols were manufactured in Strakonice until 1953, then in Prague. They were used by the Czech police and exported in large numbers. In 1970 the weapon was revised in detail and manufactured as ČZ 70 until 1983. The total number of items was around 270,000.
technology
The pistol is a recoil loader with an unlocked ground lock . The ČZ 50 is a trigger , the closing spring is on the barrel. The weapon consists of 48 (in contrast to the PPK with 41) individual parts. The safety lever is on the left side of the frame, under the slide . The safety locks the firing pin until the intended shot is fired. This allows the pistol to be loaded and cocked. As with the Walther pistols, the lower position is secured, the upper position is unlocked. The trigger guard is part of the frame. In order to be able to disassemble the weapon, there is an unlocking lever on the right-hand side above the trigger guard. The frame is open on the right side and has a cover plate. The sight consists of a front sight milled from the whole with the slide and a dovetail rear sight inserted into a cutout at the end of the slide.
variants
The dimensions and construction of the ČZ 70 correspond to the ČZ 50. The plastic grip panels have been designed more ergonomically and have checkering instead of the horizontal fluting. The parts are largely interchangeable. Many older ČZ 50 were equipped with the handles of the ČZ 70.
