Vadim Alekseevich Kozin , Russian Вадим Алексеевич Козин , (born March 8 . Jul / 21st March  1903 greg. In St. Petersburg ; † 19th December 1994 in Magadan ) was a Russian singer ( tenor ), composer and song writer .

Kosin went from movie singer to celebrated star in the 1920s. His repertoire included the popular gypsy romances, crooks songs and new songs by Soviet composers. He soon began to write songs himself.

In 1944 Kosin was arrested for his homosexuality and sentenced to eight years in a camp. He was serving his sentence in Magadan , but was able to appear at the Theater des Gulag .
