from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Vadim Viktorovich Sachartschenko ( Russian Вадим Викторович Захарченко ; born February 19, 1929 in Novosibirsk ; † January 2, 2007 in Moscow ) was a Russian theater and film actor who played in over 150 different films during his long career.

Life

Sakharchenko met the actor Nikolai Cherkassov during his military service, which he experienced as a sailor in the Black Sea Fleet in Odessa , who advised him to become an actor. Sacharchenko then moved to Moscow and applied to the film academy (WGIK) directed by Grigory Alexandrow and Micheil Tschiaureli , where he was finally accepted. Together with fellow students Nikolai Rybnikow and his later long-time lover Alla Larinova , he completed his acting studies in 1953.

In 1954 he made his debut as a film actor with a small role in the war film Baptism of Fire , followed by other film productions. Sachartschenko became one of the most sought-after actors in the Soviet Union and - at the height of his career - made over six films a year. In addition to bandits and intellectuals, he also embodied murderers and doctors; did not commit to a single film genre. He had one of his last roles as agent Vasily in the American comedy The Legacy of the Tsar's Daughter (1994). Sachartschenko ended his artistic career a good two years later.
