Wáhāhā ( Chin.娃哈哈, also Hangzhou Wahaha Group Co, Ltd) is a Chinese beverage producer . The company has become the largest Chinese manufacturer of soft drinks . From 1996 to 2007 there was a joint venture with the Danone group, in which Danone held 51%. After Wahaha was increasingly doing business outside of the JV, this was dissolved in 2009 after years of litigation.

The name Wahaha is supposed to describe a child's smile phonetically.

Products

The product range mainly includes non-alcoholic beverages, including juices and lemonades, teas, mixed milk drinks, mineral water , but also beer. For some time now, Wahaha has also been manufacturing other goods, such as children's clothing. One of the most important branches is in Hangzhou .
