The Leipzig III constituency was a state electoral district for the state elections in Saxony in 1990 , the first state election after the re-establishment of the state of Saxony. It had constituency number 7. For the state elections in 1994 , the constituency structure was changed as a result of the district reform, and the number of constituencies was reduced from 80 to 60. The area of ​​the Leipzig III constituency became part of one of the six constituencies in the city of Leipzig.

The constituency area comprised the city district Mitte III with the residential districts 104 to 114 and the city district Northeast I with the residential districts 313 to 343
