Wakita is a location in Grant County , Oklahoma , USA . It was founded in 1898 . The place was best known for both the 1996 disaster film Twister, starring Helen Hunt , Bill Paxton , Philip Seymour Hoffman and Jami Gertz, and the score for the Van Halen video Humans Being . The total area of ​​the place is 0.9 km². Based on an estimate from 2007, Wakita had a total of 376 residents.
