The forest railway Njubskaja ( Russian Нюбская узкоколейная железная дорога , transkr. Njubskaja uskokoleinaja schelesnaja doroga , transl. Nûbskaâ uzkokolejnaâ železnaâ doroga ) is a narrow-gauge railway to the village Charitonowo in Kotlasski Rajon in the Arkhangelsk Oblast in Russia .

history

The forest railway , now 191 km long , of which 50 km are still in use today, was put into operation in 1934 and is still in operation all year round (2015). It has a track width of 750 mm. Today it is used for the transport of wood and for the transport of forest workers. In 2015 the tracks were repaired in places.

Freight and passenger cars

There are several log wagons, open and closed freight wagons, tankers, bulk goods wagons for transporting gravel during track construction, as well as at least one snow plow and a slewing rail crane of the type LT-110 (№ 012). In addition to passenger cars, there are also simple dining or lounge cars.
