Waldemar Pappusch

Waldemar Pappusch (born May 25, 1936 in Pönitz ) is a former German handball player and coach .

During his active time he switched handball from the large field to the hall.

Pappusch played at ASK Vorwärts Berlin . After the handball club moved to Frankfurt (Oder) , he continued to play at ASK Vorwärts Frankfurt .

Waldemar Pappusch played in the joint German national team at the field handball world championship (WM) 1959 (world champion) and the indoor handball world championship in 1961 (4th place). For the national team of the GDR he played at the field handball world championship (WM) in 1963 , where he was world champion with the team of the GDR , and at the indoor handball world championship in 1964 . In 1963 he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze.

After his career as a handball player, Waldemar Pappusch was coach of the GDR upper league team of the ASK.
