Waldemar Sjölander
Waldemar Sjölander (born January 6, 1908 (?) In Gothenburg , † 1988 in Mexico City ) was a Swedish - Mexican painter, graphic artist and sculptor .
biography
Sjölander came to Mexico via Cuba after the Second World War . In 1947 he exhibited for the first time in the Palacio de Bellas Artes . He taught painting at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas and sculpture at the Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado “La Esmeralda” .
Some of his works are now in the Museo de Arte Moderno in Mexico City, in the Moderna Museet in Stockholm and in the Göteborgs Konstmuseum . The Gothenburg Art Museum counts him among the group of Gothenburg colorists (Göteborgskoloristerna).
