The canton of Montpellier-8 was until 2015 a French canton in the arrondissement of Montpellier , in the department of Hérault and in the region of Languedoc-Roussillon ; its capital was Montpellier . The last representative in the General Council of the Département was Jacques Atlan (first PS , then DVG ) from 1996 to 2015 (re-elected in 2008 ).

The canton consisted of two municipalities and part of the city of Montpellier. The canton's borders were last changed in 2008 before it was dissolved.
