The canton of Montpellier-5 is a French constituency in the arrondissement of Montpellier , in the department of Hérault and in the region of Occitania . Christian Bénézis has been a representative in the General Council of the Département since 1992. Until 1992, the municipalities of Lattes , Palavas-les-Flots and Pérols belonged to the canton. The new canton Lattes was created from these communities .
The canton consists of part of the city of Montpellier with a total of 50,888 inhabitants (as of 2017):
