Fritz Mareczek

Fritz Mareczek (born July 3, 1910 in Brno , Austria-Hungary , † December 19, 1984 in Stuttgart ) was a German-Austrian composer and conductor .

Life

Fritz Mareczek graduated from high school and the commercial academy in his hometown. He then studied music at the State Conservatory. From 1934 to 1939 he led the music academy. In 1938 he received the Music Prize of the City of Brno. From 1939 to 1944 he was the conductor of the Brno City Theater . In 1947 he went to Stuttgart and worked as a conductor at the comedy and operetta theater as well as for the Süddeutscher Rundfunk . In 1965 he was hired by the Oldenburg State Theater to lead the operetta. He also continued his radio activity. From 1950 he set to music a. a. some travel documentaries for Bavarian television . For the inauguration of the Stuttgart harbor in 1958, he composed the music for the "Stuttgart harbor song". In 1970 he took over the Kornwestheim Municipal Orchestra , to which the music school was also affiliated. In the same year he went on a lecture tour on the subject of the "History of popular music". In 1975 he received the Brno City Prize for Culture.
