Waldemar Sukale

Waldemar Sukale (born September 14, 1929 in Roßlau ; † July 13, 2014 in Berlin ) was a German FDGB functionary and SED functionary. He was chairman of the Berlin district board of the FDGB .

Life

The son of a working-class family attended elementary and middle school. At the end of the war in 1945 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht and briefly became a Soviet prisoner of war.

After his release he learned the job of wheelwright from 1945 and worked in the profession and as a transport worker until 1951. He became a member of the FDGB in 1949 and the SED in 1954 . From 1951 to 1952 he was an employee and functionary of the FDGB district executive committee in Dessau, and in 1953 an employee of the trade union cabinet of the FDGB district executive committee in Magdeburg . In 1954/55 and 1957 to 1960 he completed direct and distance learning at the FDGB University of Bernau. From 1956 to 1958 he worked as head of the trade union cabinet of the FDGB district committee in Cottbus, from 1958 to 1966 as secretary and deputy chairman of the FDGB district committee in Cottbusand from 1966 to 1968 as chairman of the FDGB district committee in Berlin. At the same time he was a member of the SED district leadership in Berlin and its secretariat. He later worked as the head of the special school for work and wages at the FDGB federal board.
