Rudolf Höppner
Rudolf Höppner (born October 28, 1923 in Güstrow ; † July 26, 1996 ) was a German FDGB functionary. He was chairman of the IG Chemie in the FDGB, chairman of the East Berlin district committee of the FDGB and a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .
Life
Höppner, son of a locksmith , attended elementary school and also learned the trade of locksmith from 1938 to 1941, which he then practiced. In 1942 he was drafted into military service in the Wehrmacht and in 1945 was taken prisoner by the Soviets . From 1945 to 1948 he attended an Antifa school .
After his return from captivity, he became a member of the FDGB and the SED in 1948. In 1948/49 he was chairman of the Güstrow district board of the FDGB, and in 1949/50 he was sector manager in the FDGB state board of Mecklenburg . From 1952 to 1959 Höppner was head of the org instructor department in the FDGB federal executive committee, from 1956 to 1987 he was a member of the federal executive committee of the FDGB, until 1979 also a member of the executive committee of the federal executive committee. From 1958 to 1965 he was chairman of the central board of IG Chemie. From 1966 to 1968 he studied at the University of Economics in Berlin-Karlshorst with a degree in economics. From 1968 to 1979 he was chairman of the Berlin district board of the FDGB and a member of the secretariat of the SED district leadership in Berlin.
From 1979 Höppner acted as deputy general secretary of the GDR Solidarity Committee .
From 1971 to 1986 Höppner was a member of the FDGB parliamentary group and a member of the People's Chamber.
