Peter Straßenberger

Peter Straßenberger (born January 7, 1938 ) is a former German trade union official in the GDR . He was chairman of the FDGB district board in Berlin.

Life

Straßenberger was a member of the FDGB and the SED . He studied at the TU Dresden and qualified as a graduate engineer for nuclear technology. From 1963 to 1977 he worked in the factory for television electronics in Berlin, where he was first secretary of the departmental party organization in the technology sector and, since 1976, secretary of the SED's party organization (BPO).

From 1978 to 1989 he was chairman of the FDGB district committee Berlin-Köpenick and from November 27, 1989 to March 1990 chairman of the FDGB district committee Berlin. After the dissolution of the district board, the executive board of the trade union umbrella organization FDGB confirmed on March 21, 1990 Straßenberger as head of the Berlin district office.

He was also a member of the Berlin-Köpenick district assembly from 1979 to 1990.
