Werner Oertelt
Werner Oertelt (born February 15, 1929 in Greudnitz ) is a former German trade unionist ( FDGB ). He was chairman of the IG Chemie and IG Chemie, Glas und Keramik in the FDGB and chairman of the Halle district board of the FDGB.
Life
Oertelt attended elementary and vocational school and trained as a bricklayer . From 1945 to 1949 he was a works council , later a member of a works union management . In 1949 he joined the SED . From 1949 to 1951 he was the youth secretary and organization leader of the FDGB district board in Torgau , then in 1951/52 chairman of the executive board of IG Chemie Torgau and 1952/53 chairman of the executive board of IG Chemie Bitterfeld . From 1953 to 1955 he worked as an organizational instructor for the central board of IG Chemie. From 1956 to 1958 he was secretary of the central board of IG Chemie in Halle (Saale) , from 1958 to 1961 he was deputy chairman or chairman of the Halle district board of IG Chemie. From 1960 to 1962 he was also a member of the SED district leadership in Halle. Between 1961 and 1964, Oertelt studied at the party college at the Central Committee of the CPSU in Moscow , graduating as a social scientist.
In 1965 he became deputy chairman, and from 1967 to December 1980 he was chairman of the central board of IG Chemie and IG Chemie, Glas- und Keramik. From 1971 to 1980 Oertelt was also Vice President of the International Federation of Chemical, Petroleum and Related Industries in the World Trade Union Confederation . Since the 7th FDGB Congress in May 1968, he was a member of the FDGB Federal Executive and from June 1972 (8th FDGB Congress) to 1989 the Presidium of the FDGB Federal Executive.
From December 1980 to 1989 Oertelt was chairman of the FDGB district board in Halle as well as a member of the secretariat of the SED district leadership in Halle and a member of the Halle district assembly .
