Hans-Joachim Winkler (born May 17, 1928 in Weißenfels , † April 1, 1995 in Halle (Saale) ) was a German trade unionist ( FDGB ) and politician ( SED ). He was chairman of the IG Chemie in the FDGB, chairman of the Halle district committee of the FDGB and a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Winkler, the son of a foreman, attended elementary school in Weißenfels and Leuna and completed an apprenticeship as an electrician from 1942 to 1944 . In 1944/45 he was for military service in the Wehrmacht and became a prisoner of war .

After his release, he worked from 1946 to 1948 as a fitter for electric compressors and cranes in the Leuna works . In 1946 he joined the SED and the FDGB. He attended the state youth school of the FDJ in Düben and the state trade union school. From January to May 1949 he attended the state party school before he studied at the party college "Karl Marx" in 1950 . He qualified as a social scientist.

Since 1950 he was a member of the SED district leadership of the Leuna-Werke. From 1951 to 1962 he was chairman of the management union of VEB Leuna-Werke "Walter Ulbricht". From 1950 to 1963, as a member of the FDGB parliamentary group, he was a member of the People's Chamber . From 1950 to 1958 he was a member of the Standing Committee for Foreign Affairs, from 1954 to 1958 first deputy chairman of the Economic Committee and from 1958 to 1963 a member of the Economic Committee of the People's Chamber.

From 1953 to 1972 Winkler was a member of the FDGB federal executive committee, from 1959 to 1963 also a member of the executive committee of the federal executive committee.

From September 1965 to June 1967 he acted as chairman of the central board of IG Chemie. From 1968 to 1972 he was again a member of the Presidium of the FDGB Federal Executive. From June 1967 to May 1971 he was chairman of the FDGB district board in Halle.

From May 1971 to July 1980 he was secretary for economics of the SED district leadership in Halle and a member of the Halle district assembly , later a research assistant at the Institute for Socialist Economic Management at the Technical University of Chemistry Leuna-Merseburg .
