The Waldenburg is the ruin of a hilltop castle above the Enz on the left ridge at the entrance to the town of Neuenbürg , a town near Pforzheim in the Enzkreis in Baden-Württemberg .

history

The history of this castle is largely in the dark. Research work, excavations and archaeological investigations have so far not been able to solve the riddle of the Waldenburg ruins. There is no written record or evidence; there are also no documents that could provide information about the history of the castle.

Some pottery finds refer to relationships with the Upper Rhine and the Swabian Alb . In 1887 a bronze "dragon chandelier" was found, which is now in the Württemberg State Museum in Stuttgart .

investment

According to ruin remains of the castle consisted of a fort, a palace , a chapel and several economic areas.
