The Dotzheim forest cemetery is located in the Dotzheim district of the Hessian state capital Wiesbaden .

location

The 57,800 square meter cemetery is located in the northwest of the center of Dotzheim and west of the Kohlheck settlement on the slope of the White Mountain. The cemetery is surrounded by a forest area of ​​the Taunus in the natural area of the Rheingau-Wiesbadener Vortaunus (part of the Vortaunus ). The site is part of the Rhein-Taunus Nature Park and the City of Wiesbaden landscape protection area . To the east lies the valley of the Weilburger Bach .

history

The cemetery has existed since around 1905. In order to create the area, dense old forest had to be cleared. In 1928 the war memorial was erected to commemorate those who died in the First World War . There are elective graves and row graves for burial and urn burial as well as an urn wall .
