Valery Pavlovich Maslow ( Russian Валерий Павлович Маслов ; born April 28, 1940 in Ust-Bolscherezk , Khabarovsk region , today Kamchatka region ; † July 27, 2017 in Moscow ) was a Soviet- Russian football and bandy player .

Maslow, who played eight international matches for the Soviet Union (debut on May 20, 1964 against Uruguay) and scored two goals, won the 1963 Soviet football championship with Dynamo Moscow and won the cup in 1967 and 1970. In 1968 he played in qualifying for the European Football Championship , but Maslow was not part of the squad at the tournament itself. In 1975 he ended his football career, but since then has continued to work for football clubs, including as an assistant coach.

He played bandy until 1979. After playing for Trud Kaliningrad in 1960 and 1961 , he moved to Dynamo Moscow in 1961 , where he also played football. He remained loyal to the club until 1979, during which time he was ten times Soviet bandy champion. He also won eight world championship titles with the Soviet national team (1961, 1963, 1965, 1967, 1971, 1973, 1975, 1977). In the Soviet Union, Maslow was top scorer in 1970 and 1973. After his bandy career he coached the teams of the clubs Junost Omsk , Stroitel Syktywkar , Agrochim Berezniki , Dynamo Moscow and the U-21 national team of Russia (1993 to 1996), with which he became world champion in 1994.

Maslow died on July 27, 2017 in Moscow and was buried in the Troyekurovo cemetery.
