PFK Sokol Saratow ( Russian Профессиональный футбольный клуб "Сокол" ) is a football club from the Russian city ​​of Saratov . The club colors are blue and white. The club name is derived from the Russian name of the falcon : Сокол .

After the collapse of the Soviet Union , the club was divided into the newly founded, second-class 1st division in 1992 . In the 2001 season, the club played for the first time in the Premjer League and finished eighth in the table at the end of the season. Sokol could not hold himself in the league and rose again after the 2002 season . In 2005 the club was relegated from the Russian 1st division . Instead of playing in the 2nd division , the club's management decided to play in the amateur league . In 2006, however, Sokol rose to the third-class 2nd division, group Ural -Powolschje, where in 2007 the league could be achieved as 12th of 14. In 2014 after winning the relay championship center in the 2nd division, the renewed promotion to the 1st division could be celebrated. 2017 followed another crash in the third division.

The greatest successes were reaching the semi-finals of the Soviet Cup (1966/67) and the Russian League Cup (2000/01).
