Valery Vladimirovich Rosow ( Russian Валерий Владимирович Розов ; born December 26, 1964 in Gorky ; † November 11, 2017 at Ama Dablam ) was a Russian base jumper .

On May 5, 2013, he jumped in a wingsuit in the Himalayas at an altitude of 7,220 m from the Changtse and landed on the Rongpu Glacier . He broke this record set by him on October 5th, 2016 with a jump from a height of 7700 m from Cho Oyu in Tibet / Nepal .

In 2015 Rosow successfully jumped from the Western Breach Wall (5460 m) after climbing Kilimanjaro (5895 m, highest point in Africa). This was the first successful BASE jump from Kilimanjaro ever.

On November 11, 2017, Rosow, who wanted to take off with his parachute from the highest mountains on all seven continents , jumped to his death from the 6,812 meter high Ama Dablam . The cause of the accident is still unclear.

He leaves a wife and sons.
