Walid Nakshbandi

M. Walid Nakschbandi (born August 14, 1968 in Kabul , Afghanistan ) is an Afghan- German journalist , film and television producer and manager in the Georg von Holtzbrinck publishing group .

Life

Nakschbandi, the son of an Afghan diplomat, lived with his family in India, Iran and France from the age of seven. At the age of 14 he was sent to his older brother in Germany via Paris. He graduated from high school in Solingen and began studying politics and law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . He did not want to complete his law studies after the first state examination. He completed his political studies at the Free University in Berlin . During his studies he received a scholarship from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation as part of the scholarship for the gifted .

After graduating, he volunteered at Sat.1 and became a political editor. He then switched to the Georg von Holtzbrinck publishing group and became the editor of the Talk im Turm program . Then he took over the position of head of the main and development editorial team and became the producer of the ZDF program Hidden Camera .

Since 1999 he has been managing director and editor-in-chief of AVE Gesellschaft für Fernsehproduktion mbH based in Berlin and Düsseldorf. According to the Holtzbrinck homepage, AVE (Audio Visual Entertainment) summarizes "... all television activities of the Georg von Holtzbrinck publishing group ..." and produces infotainment programs for various German TV stations. AVE's production area includes the n-tv programs Klassisch , Talk in Berlin , Grüner Salon , Quergefragt , the online video magazine WatchBerlin , and the BR youth magazine on3-südwild . AVE subsidiaries are Zeit-TV , Spektrum-TV GmbH , macroscope-Film and Wirtschafts-TV GmbH .

Walid Nakschbandi also teaches at the Berlin University of the Arts and writes for Der Tagesspiegel and the Süddeutsche Zeitung .
