Talk im Turm was a weekly talk show series that dealt with political and social issues primarily with a focus on Germany , so-called political talk . Mostly German politicians or public figures were invited. The series aired for one hour on Sundays at 10:00 p.m. On behalf of the television station Sat.1 , it was first produced in Bonn and later in Berlin and ran for almost a decade from 1990 to 1999.

Moderators

In 1990, Florian Fischer-Fabian and Heidi Schüller initially moderated the program together, and in the course of the year they were replaced by Erich Böhme and Sandra Maischberger . Maischberger left the show after a year.

Erich Böhme stayed and was the main presenter for eight years. In 1998, the Sat.1 director Fred Kogel was of the opinion that Böhme could not fit into the then new, youthful concept of the station. For example, at the age of 68 , Böhme presented the last Talk in the Tower program for the federal elections on September 27, 1998 . Already at the end of 1997 Böhme was co-presenter at the side of Heinz Eggert of the program Der Grüne Salon on the news channel n-tv . From 2000 onwards, Böhme continued a similar broadcast format with Talk in Berlin .

It was unclear for a long time who would succeed Boehme's successor on Sat.1. Finally, the Spiegel editor-in-chief Stefan Aust took over the program and moderated Talk in the tower from the end of 1998 to the beginning of 1999. At this time, other political programs such as Sabine Christiansen , with which the Sat.1 format was in competition, established themselves in the public broadcasters . At the beginning of 1999, the production of Talk in the Tower was discontinued on Sat.1 after 9 years of broadcasting due to a lack of audience response and poor feature reviews.

In 2002 the show made another brief comeback. On the occasion of the federal election, Erich Böhme hosted five programs under the title Talk im Turm - Spezial zur Wahl , which will take place from August 26th. until 23.9. were broadcast every Monday at 10:15 p.m. Günther Jauch and Harald Schmidt were guests on the last broadcast .

The news magazine Der Spiegel reported in the May 10th 2010 issue that Sat.1 wanted to reissue Talk im Turm with Hans Werner Kilz as the presenter. On December 15, 2010, however, kress.de reported that Helmut Markwort should moderate the talk in the tower . After both canceled, Claus Strunz and Hajo Schumacher were discussed as moderators. Finally, Sat.1 decided against a new edition of Talk im Turm . Instead, a political talk show with a new concept has been broadcast from 2011 to 2013. This was entitled one against one and was moderated by Claus Strunz.
