Pilgrimage Church of St. Ulrich (Semriach)
The Church of St. Ulrich , also called Ulrichsbrunn Chapel , is a Roman Catholic chapel and pilgrimage church in the municipality of Semriach in Styria . Its history goes back to the first half of the 18th century.

The church is located in the Semriach cadastral community of Windhof . It stands above a spring called Ulrichsbrunn .
history
The church was built after 1720 on the site of an Ulrichs column. In 1779 the roof was destroyed by lightning and was not renewed until 1811. In 1963 and 1999 the building was restored.
description
The church building is an octagonal central building with a tent roof and a small bell tower. The sacristy is added to the east . In the turret hangs a bell, cast in 1546, which was brought here from the former cemetery chapel . Next to the entrance is a wooden outside pulpit . The interior is oval and has a flat ceiling. The singing gallery is made of wood. There are three statues on the altar, consecrated in 1777. There are also pictures of the Way of the Cross from the second half of the 18th century in the church, originally from the Semriach parish church . A statue of the Virgin of the Poor of Banneux , made in 1965, stands above the entrance portal .
Near the church there is a brick well grotto with wayside shrine architecture and a figure of St. Ulrich from the first half of the 18th century .
Legends
According to legend, the water from the spring is said to heal eye problems.
