The Walsh Glacier is a 70 km long valley glacier in the Elias chain in Yukon ( Canada ) and Alaska ( USA ). The glacier was named after James Morrow Walsh, who was Superintendent of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for the Yukon Territory.
The Walsh Glacier has its nutrient area on the southern flank of Mount Steele . It initially flows 25 km south-south-west and then turns west. The Centennial Peak rises north of the 2.8 km wide glacier. The last 12 km are in Alaska. A narrow mountain ridge separates the Walsh Glacier from the Logan Glacier further south . Both glaciers finally unite at an altitude of around 1200 m .
