Walter Alt (banker)
Walter Alt (born December 24, 1947 in Schmalwasser , Franconia ; † February 28, 2010 in Regensburg ) was a German banker.
Walter Alt took over as CEO of Liga Bank on September 1, 2004 ; he had been a member of the board since 1992. In 2006 he was one of the initiators for the introduction of a Caritas Credit Card , which financed children's aid projects with its proceeds.
Alt was a member of the Knightly Order of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem , its grand officer and chief commander in Regensburg. For his numerous church engagements, he was honored by Bishop Gerhard Ludwig Müller with the Wolfgang Medal of the Diocese of Regensburg .
