Walter Becker (historian)
Walter Becker (born May 13, 1931 ; † April 26, 2017 ) was a German economic historian , university lecturer and traffic journalist . From 1964 to 1984 he was the presenter of the traffic magazine of the German television station .
Life
Becker joined the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED). He was a professor at the Berlin School of Economics and moderated the traffic magazine for the German TV broadcaster DFF from 1964 to 1984.
In April 1979 he was awarded the “ Labor Banner ” Level III order with the “Economic History” group of scientists at the “Bruno Leuschner” University of Economics in Berlin .
Becker died at the age of 85 and was buried in the Ostkirchhof Ahrensfelde .
