Walter Bräm

Walter Bräm (born September 4, 1915 in Glarus ; † August 13, 1996 in Zurich ) was a Swiss politician (first LdU , then Republican Movement ).

biography

Bräm completed a commercial apprenticeship in Zurich and worked at the welfare office for alcoholics in Zurich, ran an alcohol-free restaurant and private retirement homes, and founded an administration and trust office in Zurich in 1950. From 1943 to 1959 and from 1967 to 1973 he was for the Landesring der Independentigen in the Zurich Cantonal Council , where he mainly campaigned for social issues. In 1970 he joined the Republican Movement and was its representative in the National Council from 1971 . After the falling out with the Republicans, Bräm did not stand for re-election in 1975.
