Walter Crommelin (born August 19, 1948 in Rotterdam ) is a Dutch actor .

Crommelin comes from an artistic family. His grandmother was a concert pianist . Crommelin learned to play the piano from the age of seven . He studied at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam . At the age of eight he already appeared in a school concert in the Small Hall of the Concertgebouw . Further studies led him to the Geneva Conservatory , where he received a Premier Prix with distinction in 1975 for his interpretation of works by Béla Bartók , César Franck and Sergei Prokofjew . Crommelin then performed as a pianist for a few years before switching to acting.

Crommelin is best known as an actor for his roles in various children's films and series . In 1997 he played the role of Vader Tekelenburg in the youth film Mijn Franse tante Gazeuse . In the family film Otje , a film adaptation of the novel by Annie MG Schmidt , he played the role of Doctor Spijker in 1998 . He also gained particular fame through his role as Butler Hopjes in the comedy series Toen was geluk heel gewoon . In the Dutch comedy series Loenatik , a series about the inmates of a psychiatric clinic, he played the role of director Bomhoff , who is constantly occupied with computer games .

From 2006 to 2009 he played the serial role of boarding school supervisor Victor Emanuel Rodenmaar in the television series Het Huis Anubis .

Crommelin also works as a speaker for radio plays (Mayor Dickerdack in Heer Bommel ) and in commercials . He can be heard in advertisements for the Dutch bank ABN AMRO .

Crommelin lives in Haarlem .
