Walter Döpp

Walter Döpp (born February 19, 1901 in Weidenau (Sieg) , † July 1, 1963 in Marburg ) was a German botanist. His botanical author's abbreviation is " Döpp ".

Döpp received his doctorate in 1927 at the University of Marburg and completed his habilitation there in 1932. After his time as a private lecturer, he was ao from 1938. Professor and from 1943 to 1945 Professor of flowering plants and phytopathology at the Technical University of Dresden . In 1933 Döpp joined the SA and signed the confession of the German professors to Adolf Hitler . After 1945 he taught again at the University of Marburg.
