Walter Fischer (politician, 1917)

Walter Fischer (born March 2, 1917 in Niederhaßlau, Zwickau district, today Wilkau-Haßlau , † February 6, 1967 in Nuremberg ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

His father Alfred Fischer was a lathe operator, his mother Rosa nee. Hänel was a factory worker. After attending the commercial college, Fischer took up the trade. He worked in Zwickau and later in Nuremberg in a department store group. From 1939 to 1945 he initially took part in the French campaign as a soldier and was then deployed on the Eastern Front . After his release from American captivity, Fischer joined the Nuremberg city police in August 1945, which deployed him as a detective after training . He was elected to the works council and was chairman of the staff council for over ten years. Fischer was a co-founder of the Bavarian Police Department in the ÖTV trade union , which was founded in October 1947. From 1954 he was the first chairman of this largest professional police organization in Bavaria.

In 1958, Fischer was elected to the Bavarian state parliament for the SPD , of which he was a member until his death. At first he was a member of parliament for the districts of Eichstätt and Hilpoltstein and from December 2, 1966 for the constituency of Nuremberg-West. He was deputy chairman of the committee on civil servant law and pay and a member of the committees for constitutional law as well as for legal and municipal issues. He was appointed to the Bavarian Constitutional Court as a deputy non-professional judge .

Fischer was born in 1943 with Babette. Schmidbauer married and had two daughters.
