Walter Francis Brown

Walter Francis Brown (born January 10, 1853 in Providence , Rhode Island , USA, † 1929 in Venice , Italy) was an American painter and illustrator .

He graduated from Brown University in 1873 and continued his studies in Paris, France.

His adopted home was Venice, where he specialized as a painter on views of this city. He also illustrated the books A Tramp Abroad by Mark Twain and Roger Wiliams by Charles Miller.

Today his works can mainly be found in the Hay Library in his native Providence.
